Role Summary

Team Responsibilities

• Identification of export-oriented factories in the assigned countries.
• Build a strong supplier network in the assigned countries and develop strong, functional relationships with key suppliers.
• Analysis of the local supply chain and its potential
• Assistance with quality management and the creation of transparency in the production process, also regarding sustainability & compliance
• Prepare sourcing & supply chain reports, as requested by the teams in Hong Kong

Key Responsibilities

• Handling sourcing of assigned products
• Developing new products, such as e.g. Electronics, Tools & Hardware, Sanitary and Garden Accessories incl. outdoor furniture according to inquiries or proactively developing new suppliers in the assigned countries.
• Responsible for sourcing new suppliers, and new products from Southeast Asia.
• Compare offers, check samples and provide comparison and comments to the Lead Sourcing & Office for a review.
• Review quotation, cost breakdowns and understand design intent of project and product, suggest alternative solutions to reduce costs while maintaining quality and aesthetics.
• Negotiate with suppliers for better prices & terms.
• Follow-up projects closely, from sampling until shipment.
• Work closely with the category management team, with customers, suppliers and various departments to ensure timely and high-quality completion of the products. Following up on packaging artwork, instruction manual, test reports, customer complaints and quality issues
• Support Lead Sourcing & Office to prepare business trips for buyers if required.
• Visit suppliers, factories, and trade fairs in Southeast Asia to gather market/product information, identify possibilities, and make recommendations to the Headquarter.
• Communicate with suppliers to conduct market’s trend surveys (when required) to make relevant reports or develop new products.
• Supplier Data Management: In charge of gathering & ensuring that supplier data of the assigned countries is current and accurately entered into IT systems, and that all requests and quotes are accessible in online systems.
• Other tasks are assigned by Lead Sourcing & Office.

Skills and Qualifications

Education & experience

• European market-related working experience is a must, proven by a background from a retail sourcing company with EU client management.
• Education (Bachelor's degree or comparable) in a relevant field such as Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Marketing is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in category management, merchandising, product sourcing.
• Experience in a retail sourcing office and Industry-specific experience in DIY products is preferred.
• Able to travel when required (mainly local & and 2-3 times a year international).

General skills

• Team player with excellent communication & presentation skills in English (fluent, must) and also Vietnamese (preferable).
• Excellent knowledge of the local production markets in the assigned markets, familiar with EU test standards & product compliance.
• Solid knowledge of factory operations
• Thorough knowledge of the technology and tools used to create and deliver the products requested in the target market.
• Project Management skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively and handling challenges and tight deadlines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with other departments (e.g., Category Management, logistics). Communicate location-independently with a team in multiple countries and locations.
• Excellent IT & computer skills (Windows or macOS): Work in a modern work environment and able to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
